America’s youngest Firefighter to die on the morning of the September 11, 2001 attacks was, F.D.N.Y Firefighter Michael F.Cammarata. As a Firefighter for NYC, Michael was a leader on duty as well as off duty. Throughout his life, he has always exhibited his leadership, knowledge, and generosity to his family, friends, co-workers and teammates. As an advocate for youth hockey and baseball, Michael has become a role model for the youth of NYC and throughout the United States f America. The Firefighter Michael Cammarata Foundation has been established in honor of this great man. Its intended purpose is to give children throughout the country a chance to become the best of their ability. With your help through a donation, you will participate in Making His Spirit live on through the youth who benefits from our cause. In the past, we have sponsored teams both in youth ice hockey and baseball, as well as supplied all the equipment for financially challenged families whose children want to play sports but may not be able to without the assistance of this Foundation. Scholarships have also been granted to students who have attended the same high school as Michael did. Hockey Tournaments have been set up in honor of this young man, which all proceeds go to those less fortunate. We thank you for whatever donation you can give to this Non-profit organization. God Bless- The Cammarata family. From the "News Archive: Scholarship will keep firefighters spirit alive - Part1, Part2 and Part3
